Our client provides bespoke wealth management services to select high net worth individuals, families, public benefit organisations and trusts. The business focuses on meeting the requirements of multi-generational families and organisations, where independence, objectivity and holistic advice are fundamental to a successful wealth creation and preservation strategy in the long term.
They provide services to clients with international assets and implement cost-effective, bespoke investment strategies based on each client’s unique circumstances and requirements.
The company is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join their team to provide support to the senior analysts and management team.
The role of Investment Analyst & Operations Associate is broadly to provide operational and analytical support to the management team. This incorporates co-ordinating the business operational requirements (i.e. client reporting, CIS collateral etc) with monitoring and development of client investment strategies.
The role involves assisting with the on-going research and due-diligence of various fund managers across a range of asset classes/geographies, preparing investment reports, monitoring and analysing client performance, and providing insight into the implications of market news/data. From time-to-time, the role may also require participation in client meetings and presentations as well as assisting in the management of client strategies.
Personally, the candidate will require a high level of attention to detail, superior communication skills (verbal and written) and able to work well within a collaborative team approach.
The candidate should be a self-starter with a pro-active approach and should be able to work well under pressure. The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Outlook.
Prior experience within a financial services environment is required, in addition to a relevant Bachelors Degree (i.e. B.Com, B.Bus.Sci).

The role of Investment Analyst & Operations Associate is to provide support to the senior analysts and management team.
A detailed description of the various requirements is provided below. The functions, duties and responsibilities listed are not exhaustive and the employee may also be required to perform other duties, as required from time to time or as is consistent with the employee’s position.
General:
• To assist senior analysts as and when needed • To respond to all communications in a timely fashion

Reporting • Preparation, populating, reviewing and developing client reports (excel-based) • Updating and maintaining manual manager AA and positioning database • Update market performance data sheets (Performance monitor) • Reviewing and suggesting improvements for client reports (excel) • Monitoring and analysing client performance

Research, Analysis and Portfolio Construction: • Ad hoc fund performance review • Assist with share reviews when necessary • Assist with population of information for client queries • Present findings in a well-structured analysis report, both for internal use and for presentation to clients. • Assist in building and refining internal research, manager selection and portfolio construction processes • Portfolio performance/monitoring and attribution analysis

Manager Research: • Sourcing and managing of manager data o Factsheets o Top holdings of managers in database • Setting up external or internal Manager update meetings • Update performance slides for Monthly manager meetings • Assisting in on-going due diligence for domestic and offshore managers o Maintain up to date due diligence information on preferred managers • Providing insight into the implications of market news/data

Client Management: • Assisting in the general oversight and management of client strategies o Checking positioning vs client objectives • Formulating and drafting strategy recommendations o Follow-through of recommendations • Assist with client queries and provide education to clients around strategy and portfolio positioning • Participation in client meetings and presentations • Preparing and delivering client feedback presentations

Collective Investment Scheme: • Ensuring accuracy of MDD’s • Updating asset allocation for LISP platforms • Re-calculation and reconciliation of fees • Liquidity & fund flow monitoring • Trade sheet preparation • Trade monitoring once sent • Update AA and performance slides for Monthly CIS meeting • Maintain Performance report for each fund

Minimum Educational Requirement • Business degree + relevant qualifications in Financial Analysis and Portfolio Management • Postgraduate studies such as CFA will be advantageous • Experience Highly numerate / analytical • Brilliant attention to detail • Excellent communication skills • Commitment to client service • Proficient in Microsoft Office

Minimum Experience Requirements • 1 to 5 years of experience in the investments industry and in particular with FAIS • Experience in consulting to clients or possess the skills to become a consultant over time
