Vacancy Investment Manager/ Investment Analyst
Role Overview The Investment Manager will support the team’s investment activities through the cycle- origination, execution and post investment. Lead all aspects of a transaction – entrepreneur engagement, technical work on the transaction, presentation of the transaction, term sheet negotiation, due diligence and post investment management. Given the early-stage nature of most investments, the Investment Manager will need the business acumen to interrogate strategic intents and work closely with applicants to co shape investment proposals productively.

 

Key Responsibilities ·       Analyse financial statements and prepare financial model

·       Conduct Industry, market and company research.

·        Participate in all aspects of the company’s investment cycle from project    development to disbursement

·        Provide support for investment negotiations and due diligence

·       Assist in post investment activities

·       Contribute to our social entrepreneurship mandate by assessing proposal

·       Prepare investment documents, briefing papers, reports and presentation for internal and external audiences

·       Work on corporate – wide projects

Qualifications, skills and experience ·       Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in finance, business or other related

·       CA(SA), CFA, MBA or other relevant postgraduate degree

·        Minimum 4 of relevant investing years’ experience such as PE/VC/Angel/Impact investing

·       Strong financial, analytical and financial modeling skills

·        Proficient in Microsoft office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and outlook

·       Interest and understanding of the company’s vision, mission and values

·       Passion for contributing to making a positive difference to South Africa

·       Team player with strong interpersonal skills

·       Ability to work successfully with entrepreneurs and build relationships with stakeholders

·       Emotional maturity and professionalism

·       Ability to work independently with limited supervision

·       Willingness and ability to work on various corporate widespread projects

·       Highly reliable and organized

·       Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
