Our client is a niched boutique Asset Management business specialising in equities and derivatives trading in South Africa, their office is based in the Northern suburbs of Cape Town.
Overview:
A large specialist financial service provider to the institutional investment market requires the services of an asset administrator for client equity and derivative exposure and risk calculation and reporting. The candidate would benefit from experience in the derivative and hedge fund industry. The candidate must have solid Excel experience and the position requires a detailed oriented person who can work under pressure.
Responsibilities and Duties: • Various back and middle office support functions • Maintain daily and monthly valuation, exposure and risk reporting to clients • Operationally assist clients with their investments execution and dealing information • Interactions with various multi-managers, hedge funds, retirement funds, brokers and external administrators • The asset administrator reports directly to the head of opperations
Working environment: • Work as part of a small team with final responsibility for allocated tasks • Entrepreneurial environment but being part of a larger group of companies • Working on highly specialised and non-vanilla instruments and portfolios • Exposure to a broad financial environment
Academic requirement: • B. Comm. (Investments or Quant focus) • Good mathematical proficiency • Above average Excel skill
Experience: • Minimum 2 years experience in the investments industry with exposure to shares, derivatives, hedge fund instruments and valuations, Excel skills are very important.
